Safety Town

Geneva Lake Women’s Association Safety Town 2022 will be Tuesday, June 7th – Friday, June 10th. It will be held at Lake Geneva Middle School, 600 N. Bloomfield Rd., Lake Geneva.

Safety Town is an early childhood safety education program designed for children who are at least 5 years of age and who are entering five-year-old kindergarten in the fall. During a 12 hour program (3 hours per day for 4 days), children learn safety behavior under the guidance of certified teachers and qualified professionals, such as firefighters and police personnel. Children learn safety lessons through role playing, games, art projects, stories, movies and field trips. Children also learn traffic and bike safety by driving their “cars” in our miniature Safety Town. Learning experiences are designed to be fun and non-threatening, so children look forward to every day of Safety Town.

The Geneva Lake Women’s Association is proud to provide this community service for Walworth County for 40 years. Committee chair Denise Schnurr noted that many participants have a prior connection to Safety Town. “It is amazing to see the number of parents and high school volunteers who had been participants as children,” says Schnurr.
